Serioualy he accidentally kind of highlights a part of the press coverage that I think is strangely delusional: that the foreign policy of Ukraine depends on who is president. The same delusion existed during the coverage of the "Rose Revolution" in Georgia. The coverage usually omits that Shevardnadze and Kuchma were ALREADY pro-Western leaders. Kuchma only started making overtures to Russia when the EU said that Ukraine would "never" join. It was at that point that he became "pro-Kremlin." Russia HAS to be "pro-Kremlin" no matter who the president is. Zbignew Brzezinski could be leader of Ukraine and he would have to be pro-Kremlin.
