Sure you can if you want to, but do we all have to unfailingly express a criticism or two of this or that statement by Lynne Stewart whenever we oppose the prosecution, as if to suggest that opposition to the prosecution minus a criticism of her statements should not be tolerated?
BTW, to "deplore" (a useful verb in high diplomacy) sounds a bit weak in this context, doesn't it? It expresses strong regret, but it doesn't convey a sense of outrage and fierce opposition, according to OED. -- Yoshie
