No we're not. But there's no excuse for being so damned rude all the time. I don't understand why only sophomores should be treated with kindness. Most humans should be treated with kindness, esp those who are more or less your comrades. And it's not just a personality quirk of Prof (Emeritus) Cox - it's endemic among what we might call the Old Left (which by now includes a lot of the New Left).
