But at least Socialist parties can have some impact on the ideas that filter into the programs of one or another major party. That used to happen early in the 20th century. Why not now? All the ideas in the DP (forget the RP) seem to be mental farts from faceless bureaucrats in think tanks (most of them financed by Soros, I suppose).

The thing that makes voting for Kerry such a dreary (though necessary) task to contemplate is that there aren't any ideas in the DP that wouldn't make an excellent sleeping pill. What radical third parties need to do is come up with something to keep us from nodding off.
