In short, you want to dictate what the radical third party does but you're not going to play any role in helping to build it.

I don't mean to single your posting outs, Jon, most of which I find articulate and perceptive. I'm doing so here because the attitudes you express are characteristic of many of those on this list, including our distinguished host. And they are also characteristic of the left outside of LBO. This explains a lot, in my opinion, about why we are where we are now.
