Very revealing post this one: the usual apathy about "licking envelopes", forming alliances among disparate groups (some of whom might not-God forbid-be intimately familiar with the works of Gramsci!), participating in governance etc. is replaced by contempt and ridicule.

Entirely consistent with the essential point of the piece I alluded to which I recommend particularly to Carrol, Yoshi, and Wojtek who have expressed related ideas in recent postings.

I continue to learn a great deal from this list as to why we are where we are.
