Yield? I thought the point was follow rather than duplicate or run ahead of and pretend to lead. In this case, it's a clear majority of democratic primary voters (not only African-Americans) who are voting Kerry not because of his positions but rather on 'electability.' A rotten strategy, but I think it's one of those situations where people think more people are more conservative than they themselves are, like the poll of U.S. doctors who, in a majority, thought most of their colleagues opposed national health care, although they themselves supported it.
