French and Jewish resistance groups in WWII? From what little I know of them, they didn't hesitate to attack civilians whom they suspected of collaborating (or was that not case? I'm not sure) or butcher soldiers. And weren't there terrorist actions by North Vietnamese commies against South Viet Nam and its citizens, as well as the US troops?

A big difference between then and now seems to be the lack of a "big" supplier to the "terrorists" of money and materials. I doubt the ones supplied by al-Qaeda (and I'd be surprised if they weren't in Iraq now) have the same sort of backing as that supplied by an entire country (or more, in the case of the first counter-example).

So it might very well be that terrorism has _helped_ liberate people . . . .

But you just wanted to put the boot in to Yoshie, didn't you Tahir?

Todd

PS: Yoshie, don't pull that sort of race-baiting horseshit again. FWIW, your smearing of others on this list with it really disappointed me.

Do better next time.

Please.
