Catholic nationalism might be an oxymoron, but Croatian nationalism is not. And the only difference between a Croat and a Serb is that the former is a Catholic.
The division that created India & Pakistan as two religiously counterposed nations out a unitary India that once mixed them both unequally is not unlike the divisions that created Serbia and Croatia and Bosnia out of Yugoslavia.
