Rentals in the bay area are falling and falling fast. My son (20) just found a three-bedroom, 2-ba house in a very nice neighborhood, with formal dining room, den, yard, washer/dryer for $1375/month. That's a fabulous price for this area. (He's going to share it with a couple of buddies: the result being that his total monthly rent + utilities will be approx. $500.) Other rentals he was looking at were asking less than the published price. The lists from the local rental agencies are huge and there's lots of great deals.
