--precisely. it seems to me the Perrin/Hitchens line on abortion is that it should be legal to have an abortion but women/men should apologise to society for having commited this act... utterly bizarre strategy that seems almost entirely unique to the United States. Even Canada with its heavy Catholic influence doesn't seem to have much of this nonsense, or not much able to influence public opinion in any event...
