HP to invest $1 bn in Singapore over five years

US computer maker Hewlett-Packard will spend $1 billion in Singapore over the next five years to expand and upgrade its manufacturing, the company said on Tuesday.
The Palo Alto, California-based company said in a statement the investment will allow it to make high-end servers and printers and cater to rising demand from China and South Korea. The company, which is the world's the worlds second biggest computer maker, is among Singapore's largest foreign investors with some 6,000 employees based at its Southeast Asian hub.
