I don't favor railroading MS or anybody else, but I do favor convicting and
jailing her, if the evidence shows she knowingly obstructed justice and/or
acted to inflate her own stock. If there's insifficient evidence, she
should walk.
Meanwhile, I don't think I agree that this is merely an effort to legitimate
Wall Street. It might have that side-effect to some degree, but I think
Stewart belongs in the dock, based on what she did. The ladder of law does
not reach to the very top. That, IMHO, does not legitimize sawing it down
even lower. We should be clamoring to try the really big boys, as you say.
And Martha could help them decorate their cells and make canapes from their
Spam rations.
