I just saw a poll according to which 32% of non-Christiansa nd 88% of Christians believe that Christ rose from the dead. The human capacity for doublethink is awesome. But the situation in the ME is so desperate that even extreme mental gymnastics are not surprising. Even before all this, Zionism in its earlier forms included both ethnic particularism and some sort of socialist ideals. The former seem to have triumphed pretty decisively over the latter, obviously. jks
