Huh? There was a black female bridge officer, an Asian officer, and a Russian officer. And of course the Scottish Engineer. Considering it was 1963 IIRC, that is pretty progressive, no? And Star Trek did have the first Black & White televised kiss... Sure it was predominately Americans but then the audience were Americans. But in perspective of what was going on at the time - Civil Rights movement and the Cold War - what Roddenberry did was pretty brave.
