I don't know how long DP will be staying in Columbus, but if he is gonna be here until Wednesday night, he should attend the following event. I met Michele Swensen once at a CAIR-Ohio event -- she is a very sweet woman. As it is likely to be a small protest, even one additional body will help.

Operation Equal Protection.

Support Ashraf Al-Jailani and Family and Call for Due Process for all persons and the Rights of the "accused" as guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.

Location: The Federal Building (Columbus, OH), 200 North High St. (at the corner of Spring and High -- next to the post office) Date & Time: Wednesday, July 21, 2004, 5:00 PM

If you'd been around to protest the Japanese interment camps in the 1940's, would you have done it? If you'd been around to protest Hitler's crimes against humanity, would you have stood by the targeted populations? Don't let another day go by without standing up for the targeted populations in the U.S.A. Unsubstantiated suspicions of "terrorism" ties, based on ethnic, religious, and cultural profiling alone, has led the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security to deny Ashraf Al-Jailani's due process rights, three times overriding (through appeals and delaying tactics) the rulings by an immigration judge to release him. Father of three children and husband to Michele Swenson, of Kent, Ashraf is one of many Arab, Muslim, and South Asian immigrants who remain detained and denied due process rights, due to inappropriate "security" arrests and an anti-immigrant climate in the culture.
