Officer of bureau for combating organized crime killed
in Chechnya
GROZNY. July 25 (Interfax) - A senior officer of the
North Caucasus regional department for combating
organized crime was killed in Grozny on Sunday
morning. 

Yaragi Nikayev was killed, when a powerful bomb,
planted in his car, exploded the moment Nikayev
started the engine. His wife was wounded, the Chechen
Interior Ministry told Interfax on Sunday. 

The Chechen Interior Ministry and other
law-enforcement agencies launched an operation to find
the criminals behind the terrorist attack. 

More than a year ago, unidentified assailants gunned
down Nikayev's son Lechi, a student of the State
Teachers-Training Institute, in front of other
students.
