You have the right to your opinion, absurd, contemptible, and trivial as it is, but you do not have the right to impose your opinion on women. Women have abortions for reasons of our own -- including self-indulgence of which women should be able to enjoy more in any event -- and whether you approve or disapprove of women's reasons for abortions is beside the point.
The beauty of the T-shirt is that it doesn't even bother to give any reason for abortion -- it simply announces the fact that the woman wearing it, like 30 million other American women, had an abortion.
It is women like me -- not men like you -- who can wear "I Had an Abortion" T-shirts in any case, and my posting is addressed primarily to fearless women (though fearless men can support Jennifer Baumgardner's documentary work in progress I Had an Abortion).
Feminist men, however, might make and wear T-shirts of their own: e.g., "I Had a Vasectomy" T-shirts. -- Yoshie
