[lbo-talk] No Reagan bounce

Two good political watchers (Whisky Bar & Ruy Teixeira) argue that there has (as yet) been no Reagan bounce. And it is unlikely to materialize. All the nostalgia for the good old days of the 1980s (however false such ideas may be) simply brings into relief the fact that we are now living in dark times. The mythic Reagan of media-created memory (all sunny and optimistic) reminds us of how Bush II is running on the politics of fear.
