I'd say the French media uses different words. Although I've not
followed French news very closely in the last 7-8 years. Everything I
get from the internet or from my short trips there (including
conversations with relatives/friends) tells me it has not changed a
bit. Only a very few people actually know and _accept_ in their daily
life that "God" and "Allah" are one and the same entity. The thing is
that since Allah's "official" voice is arabic (as is described in the
Koran) chances are most christians/jews are going to feel a little
upset by this equation.
