"When my father died some years back, a few people whom my dad had helped out didn't come to the funeral.
I checked the situation out and found those people had no valid excuse for not going. They just didn't want to. I have never spoken to those people again. [...]
Another bad guy is [Vladimir] Putin, the Russian leader. He's not going to the funeral either. I guess he has to hustle back to Moscow to arrest more journalists. Putin is looking out for Putin and no one else.
The Japanese prime minister surprised me. He's also not attending. He can't stay around one more day. Bad form. And how about our pals in Ottawa and Mexico City? Well, they are very, very busy. Paul Martin and Vicente Fox (search) will not be attending the funeral. Gracias amigo, thanks a lot."

The tone of this piece really is cute. Basically, what O'Reilly wants to say is "Well, I don't care if he has alrady booked his flight ... it's still rude. He says he's busy. I'm sure Prince Charles is busy too. But he makes time. Chancellor Schroeder is busy. But he makes time. I don't understand it ... he doesn't even think to send a card?"
Clearly, using O'Reilly's logic, the solution is simple: never speak to Chirac, Putin, Koizumi, Martin or Fox again. It might make diplomacy difficult, but no more difficult then when Bush opens his mouth.
