Doing a little time travel?
I assume "last month" means February, which is quite a feat if the March 1 date is correct, since the Feb employment report was released on March 5. That aside, the original report of 21,000 has been revised upwards to 83,000. The count of new jobs for the first five months of 2004 (in thousands):
1/04 159 2/04 83 3/04 353 4/04 346 5/04 248
The average for the last three months is 316,000, and for the first five months of 2004, 239,000.
