Harvard wants more Chinese

Harvard Business School, one of the top business schools in the world, is looking forward to recruiting more Chinese students despite tightened immigration restrictions in the United States, Shanghai Daily said Wednesday.

The school's dean, Kim B. Clark, said in the city yesterday that Harvard is waiting for Chinese applicants with an excellent academic background, capacity for leadership and good personal character - such as integrity, personal accountability and trustworthiness.

"We do have plans to enroll more Chinese students, but right now the biggest obstacle is the immigration restriction," Clark said.

He added that the university is working to persuade the government to rethink its policy and give more students visas.

But the school has no plans to launch joint Master of Business Administrative programs with local universities, HBS officials said.
