Interesting. Do the math and you find the following trade balances:

Japan -7,664 USA 18,026 EU 6,987 ASEAN -7,774 Hong Kong 23,610 ROK -11,470 Taiwan Province -16,311 Russia -1,705 Australia -1,045 Canada -39

Leaving aside HK, the U.S. is in a class by itself. China's running large trade deficits with Japan, ASEAN, S Korea, Taiwan, Russia, and Australia, and a small one with Canada. The surplus with the U.S. is almost three times that with the EU. Is it because they all don't have enough Wal-Marts?
