I applaud both of you for being involved in the lives of children.
However, it should also be noted that babysitting and actually being the one responsible for raising and living with a child are two very different experiences, perspectives and have different objectives.
Also, 7 and 9 year olds are pretty tame compared to hormonally charged teens obsessing over consumer goods and your car in the driveway.
