--i'd say that email is a funny thing sometimes. i think it's best to not presume that one's email personality is necessarily connected to their real life personality. i've met carrol in the flesh, stayed at his house overnight with him and his wife and had a nice night of chit chat over Becks with them and his daughter and son in law. a very congenial bunch actually. it probably horrifies many to think it, but those with whom you are at war with on email lists are more than likely people you would, if you didn't know their identity, have a great time with at a pub chatting about any number of topics. no?
