While I agree with you, Doug, that this whole show is just going to exonerate the system by means of the "rotten apple" ploy, couldn't it also have gone the same way had Martha been let off? People could've just as easily thought/rationalised, "Wealth guarantees you'll get off, eh? Well, I'm going to get mine, so I can buy off the Feds too if they come for me!"
