MOSCOW, March 7. Russians have named Vladimir Putin the country's most successful leader since 1917, according to the results of the latest Romir Monitoring survey. 37% of respondents voted for Putin. Joseph Stalin was next with 19%. Leonid Brezhnev was third with 11%.
According to the survey, Putin's largest supporters were young, highly educated and affluent members of society. Stalin was first among respondents 60 years of age and older. The survey was conducted in February.
