One luminously good option (and what counts as "good" in the prudential sense obviously depends on psychological features that vary amongst individuals) is always enough. Trouble is, I generally wouldn't trust Carrol's ability to determine what single option would be best for me, and he ought not trust my ability to determine what single option would be best for him.
