Very effective, indeed - assuming, of course, that politics is about "character," personal appeal, moral integrity, celebrity status and similar hogwash - which for most people on the right and some on the left (e.g. the Nader Booster Club) is apparently true.

However, for those who believe that politics is about collective interest and power struggle rather than infantile popularity contest I may say: Kerry may be speaking on the both sides of his mouth, but at least I like what comes from one side. That is much better than the far right drivel coming out Bush's mouth.

So, borrowing from Senator Robb's campaign slogan couple of years ago - Vote for the crook, it is important!
