I was also in NYC. I saw one Nader person, carrying a hand-made sign on a crumpled cardboard box. It was barely readable and not at all understandable, and the person carrying it looked to be in the same company as the person ranting about how only God could bring us peace, though it was difficult to tell. The Kucinich, Kerry, and Dean logos were everywhere, more common even than the Venezuelan and Haitian flags, which were a welcome sight.
Also, Mike Larkin is right: Yoshie has to be living on another planet. I also know not a single labor or African-American organizer who supports Nader, and yes, the sentiment of pure hatred for him these days runs deep among such people. It is only among academics that I have encountered the temptation to support Nader this year, and even then never in person, only online. This observation is anecdotal of course, but would be confirmed by all sane people around the country.
