Pre-emptive note to Michael Pugliese: we can all do without any claims from you that there's no reason to favor the FMLN over ARENA, or a list of ten URLs about Roque Dalton.
As a CISPES member in the 80's, when you were in diapers, why do you (who as you should recall when you and I and a few others were aligned on the same side in debates in Proyect Cloud Cuckoo Land over Milosevic) continue to distort the positions (though you do accurately score a point against Yoshiebot, I assume driven by your geographical proximity to her and both of you being in Soli) of others, who however much they have grown critical over the yrs. of some of their prior positions, decades ago (as a ten yr. old, I went w/ my Mom to one of the huge anti-Vietnam War MOBE's in '71 in Wash. D.C. Even w/ what I know now about the NLF and the Vietnamese CP [see, the Trot book, "A People's History of the Vietnam War, " published by The New Press, French Trot, Pierre Rousset on Vietnamese Communism in, Tariq Ali edited collection, "The Stalinist Legacy, " French journalist, Oliver Todd, "Cruel April: The Fall of Saigon, " and the autobio of a former NLF official, Truang Nhu Tang, I do not regret having supporting them or the FSLN or FDR-FMLN. http://people.clemson.edu/~eemoise/commview.html Vietnam War Bibliography: The Communist Viewpoint
However, in the greater interests of opposing the bloody fascist death squadistra propped up w/ zillions of US tax dollars and other forms of support and aid, should not, blind us to the severe violations of what Comrade Khrushev called, "socialist legality, " when, such as Roque Dalton was killed (accused of being both a KGB and CIA agent) by Joaquin Villalobos faction of what became one of the major politico-military orgs. of the FDR-FMLN. See, "A Salvadorean Tragedy, " excerpted in, "The Central American Crisis Reader, " ed. by Barry Rubin and Robert S. Leiken. As you may know, Barry Rubin, was a correspondent for the rad left Guardian in the late 60's and early 70's before drifting towards neo-connery and Leiken was a Maoist. See Leiken along w/ Michael Yates and Joan Robinson replying to Charles Bettelheim in a Monthly Review from '77 or '78.
Proyect is right about one ting about you, you've mastered the old CPUSA style of demogogy.
