The ordinary torture is unremarkable. But having been corrupted and degraded by their involvement in systematic torture, the perpetrators simply lost whatever judgement and common sense they might have had.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Which reminds me, on 26/3/04, Luke Weiger wrote:
