CB: Agreeing with your claim, I'm thinking the reduction in interimperialist rivalry is due mainly to the need for capitalism to unite in the Cold War against the SU and socialist countries. Current peace is left from that, and the fact that the U.S. was the predominant locus of international capitalist warmachine on behalf of the other capitalist nations in the Cold War.

It is not their "democratic" character that generated their unity.
