There were different flavors of women's lib -- one flavor wanted a form of liberation that included women, another wanted a form of entitlement that included women: entitlement to exploit, rape, torture, whatever. Same goes for "black" liberation. You either wanted to be liberated away from the class system or into a privileged position within it.

There is nothing genetic or racial about the desire for freedom over the desire for power. This is why, among many other reasons, identity politics is a dead end.
