Heh, just as credible as when Gus Hall denied being the recipient of $2 million a yr. from the CPSU (Gorby finally cut off the CPUSA subsidy, and of coarse he had to deny for legal reasons the $ but, really!) to Scott McLemee. McLemee probably showed him the copy of the voucher signed by Gus that Michael Dobbs of the WaPo published. Copy in the photo insert of, "The Soviet world of American Communism, ed. by Klehr and Haynes.

INC DENIES RECEIVING US FUNDING

(Al-Mutamar) - The Iraqi National Congress has denied receiving financial assistance from the US administration. INC leader Mudhar Shawket talked about an intensive campaign directed by known bodies in the US administration and the Department of States to defame INC Head Ahmed al- Chalabi and the rest of the INC leadership. He said some media outlets connected to the CIA said Chalabi or the INC received $300,000 monthly aid from the Pentagon. Shawket denied the allegation saying the INC is funded by the members' donations. He asked all media outlets to be sure of their stories before publishing them. (Al-Mutamar is issued daily by the Iraqi National Congress.)
