That's nonsense. The AP assembly results were out before the Lok Sabha results came out. The totals are all over the place, see for instance <http://www.andhranews.net/elections/> <http://164.100.51.209:8080/assembly_delay_AP/default.html>
Chandrababu's TDP & BJP alliance suffered a swing of 8 per-cent of the vote against them. To give some idea of how big a swing that is, the biggest swing in recent history suffered in a US Congressional election - the '94 Democratic defeat - was only 6 per cent.
Perhaps the evidence Monbiot sets out of UK, US, "Adam Smith Institute", McKinsey domination of the Chandrababu Naidu program is to your taste a bit too much proof of ... imperialism?
But of course imperialism is no longer relevant in India, something about a space rocket....
