I meant that it is appears far more likely that Iraqis would accept a Russian (or French, or German) presence in the country than an American one. On the other hand, Putin says that his reaction to the idea that Russia should send troops to Iraq is "what, do we look that stupid?" (approximate translation of "nashli durakov?", "have you found idiots?")

It sure will be an irony of ironies if all those juicy oil contracts go to Russian and French companies...
