I enjoyed reading "the working class majority" and think that zweig has some good things to say. i could only register to attend the saturday portion of the conference due to having to work and the high cost, but i'm looking forward to it.
one criticism i have, though, is the sort of class reductionism i sensed many times while reading zweig's book, and the sort of tokenized, patronizing way issues of race and gender are being treated in this conference. having a ghettoized section entitled "The mosaic of class, race, and gender" to me just smacks of the same ol' white academic marxist old-left analysis.
