[lbo-talk] mourn

Emotion gives social motion to people. We are activist materialists, among whom the subjective side is active not passive as in all previous materialisms, and the subjective side is activated by emotions.

The idea might be "channel your anger (emotion) into causing you to get even." Don't get mad and only express it by angry words in a mourning ritual. Get even , by furiously organizing socialism."

We still have to have boring meetings to plan , though. Sorry. Without revolutionary theory, there can be no revolutionary movement.

Yeah, exhortation is pretty useless without explanation, and irritating even

then. The version that's more revealing (when it comes to activistism) is 'don't agonize, organize!' (Flo Kennedy?) which we translate around here as 'don't analyze, organize!' or 'beat your head against that wall some more, and with additional vigor.' But the impulse is not all wrong, to encourage ourselves

and others not to retreat into domesticity or professionalism or hedonism or

whatever other avenues might be open, just because the going gets tougher, which it will.
