Alliance is a two-way street.

Barack Obama boasts of his responsibility for the Welfare Reform, supports the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and favors missile attacks on Iran. He even refuses to _set a timetable_ for troop withdrawal from Iraq <http://www.renewamerica.us/archives/media/debates/04_10_12irndebate.htm>, putting himself in opposition to the position of such moderate anti-war organizations like Win Without War: <http://www.winwithoutwarus.org/html/new_phased.html>.

In short, Obama doesn't even ally with moderate anti-war activists, much less leftists.

I didn't support Dennis Kucinich because I was supporting Nader/Camejo, but I didn't attack him either for such frivolous reasons as mentioned by Kevin Robert Dean: <http://mailman.lbo-talk.org/pipermail/lbo-talk/Week-of-Mon-20041101/024782.html>. If unprincipled attacks on Dennis Kucinich and his supporters are what upset you, you should have criticized Doug <http://mailman.lbo-talk.org/2003/2003-December/030046.html>, John Adams <http://mailman.lbo-talk.org/pipermail/lbo-talk/Week-of-Mon-20041004/022447.html>, and other members of the AnybodyButBush brigade who heaped scorn on them, refusing to even discuss Kucinich's platform -- especially his opposition to the occupation of Iraq. But I didn't notice you defending his record when he was dismissed because his spiritual belief is out of the mainstream. -- Yoshie
