"The enemy has a face. It is Satan's. He is in Fallujah, and we're going to destroy him."

I heard this Marine colonel say these words on an SBS newscast down here in Australia last night. He's also been quoted elsewhere (see above link). Lots of people believe this kind of rhetoric as god's honest truth. I'm sure that a lot of the people facing the Marines, believe they are shooting at the Great Satan as well.

Circular firing squad?

Belief in Satan is another fundamentalist belief which is conflated with truth.
