Just bought, saw, Terrence Malick's "The Thin Red Line" on DVD. Saw it when 
it first came out, but it didn't take then (different time, me). Does now. 
Perhaps the most beautiful and saddest war film I've ever seen. A bit much 
on the poetic narration, but otherwise well worth seeing, esp at this 
moment. An antiwar WW2 movie in contrast to the Greatest Generation hype. 
That alone recommends it.
