Some good news, a Christian nutjob piece of legislation turns around and
bites the DEA in the ass.

This is the 10th Circuit en banc, with a clear rightwing majority.
Counsel for the 'hoasca' (dimethyl triptamine, sort of a lunchbreak LSD)
users - the most excellent Nancy Hollander - has now persuaded a
district judge, a three judge 10th Circuit panel, and now the entire
court en banc that the "Religious Freedom Restoration Act" entitles her
clients to the greatest of legal rarities in the US prison/police state -
a preliminary injunction against the US government and its drug gestapo,
prohibiting DEA interference with her clients getting spectacularly
stoned. Of course she argued persuasively that this
precedent will not be usable by DrugFiends, but applies only to
SincereReligiousTypes, and somehow i'm certain that all 4 (!) en banc
opinions - though i've not seen them yet - make the same point.
Brava Nancy!
