[lbo-talk] Where we stand today

Michael-- This whole thread was based on Doug's original post imposing "thought police" (i.e. rapping his knuckles verbally) on John being a little rude, after having to repeat himself, on these facts. I'm not actually arguing for Doug to fact check anyone; I'm arguing he shouldn't jump in and rap the knuckles of John for being rude after the second or third time he has to state these facts.

The broader point is that a lot of folks denounce labor leaders or "the Democratic Party" based on non-existent "facts" that are just plain wrong. And they claim it's just their "free speech right" to libel other activists based on false facts.

Nathan, what's the deal, dude? If Local 1199 is separate locals, then explain this fact. Once you do that, then you've exposed the "lie," which in this case seems to be a simple case of misinformed opinion.

What's the source of your thought-police instinct? Why is debunking a lie or error not enough for you?

And, please give this harangue of yours a rest! You are wrong, and Doug is not going to fact-check, thank dog. If he did, you might be one of the first victims, since you insist on painting opinion conflicts and shaded, complex, and genuinely arguable interpretations as crude lies.
