In situations where I don't want to say "socialism", I usually say "radical democracy". It's not exactly deceptive.

You could always choose an alternative catchphrase. Republicans do this all the time. Say, for example, replace libertarian socialism with Modifying Value Party (MVP); this will catch the attention of sports fan's.
