Hell, if you had that kind of political support, might as well do all sorts of interesting things. Get rid of corporate personhood, tax wealth rather than income, nationalize certain industries...not to mention prosecuting numerous quasi-religious organizations for abusing their tax exempt status by meddling in politics--and then seizing their assets or taxing them as the partisan political organizations that they really are.

If you did all that, you'd likely have mucho dinero to implement not just universal health care, but all sorts of good social programs. How would you implement that? I have no idea; I'm not an actuary. But I figure if you have that much power, you can make capital play an ongoing

*and transparent* social/economic function rather than simply accumulate and concentrate.
