but what are the choices? almost anything on hbo can seem "adult" and even "hip" by comparison to the usual broadcast pap, but how good is that stuff, really?
kind of like kerrybush...the viewer has only a slightly wider scope to choose from than the voter...
by the way, ten minutes of watching an episode of this thing revealed derivative, ugly pap, with dumb guys beating the crap out of slightly less dumb guys...the actors are all good professionals, especially the lead guy, but it seems like much ado about nothing...
the scorsese film - name escapes - about these types of unfortunate and scummy, low life people and their realities, was at least - slightly - original...this thing is a spin off of a spin off, but people, especially those far removed from any such ugly reality, seem to love mafia tough guys who survive in their jungle by beating the shit out of and killing their enemies, and if they have seemingly ordinary trials and tribulations in their personal lives, with large dollops of seemingly educated"adult" writing,the critics follow...
