Yeah his anthem stuff grates, IMHO 'Nebraska' and 'Tunnel of Love' were his 
best stuff, and least dependent on volume for effect. Although, I was about 
14 when 'Born to Run' came out and given the steaming crap in the air waves 
at the time it was a electrifying, it was a like a forewarning of the blast 
of fresh air punk and new wave would be 2-3 years later. Oddly enough, 
given its length, lyrics and heavy production.
