:p
I called to order an absentee ballot a while ago, but nothing came through, so I called to find out the scoop. Clerk noted that it had never been requested the first time. She reminded me that I could also vote early. "Oh yeah, I heard about that now that you remind me. So much to remember. So much for you guys to keep track of. How many different ways can we vote: early, absentee, at the polls, right? Aren't you guys getting inundated this year, too? You guys must be going nuts with all the phone calls, questions, etc."
Her: "Oh yeah, it's been a uh let's say an interesting experience."
Me: "Yeah, I just read a Vanity Fair article about everything FL has been doing for this election. Now the whole world is watching!"
"Thanks for reminding me," she quipped sarcastically.
I'm going to call again in a couple of days to see about my absentee ballot. I'd like to know if, once again, I'm going to be mysteriously deleted from the mailing list.

"one of the lessons of 1964 that conservatives learned was that it was more important for voters to feel like they were informed than to actually be informed. conservatives now have several places where they can learn this lesson several times a year."
